Grain cleaning has long been the subject of intense research by numerous scientists who conducted comprehensive studies of the processes involved in grain separation. To achieve this goal, both screen and pneumatic systems were extensively used, each with its own unique characteristics and features. Various authors such as Tarablin D.S., Sorokin N.N., and others, classified various air cleaning systems of grain-cleaning machines. We present a comprehensive and detailed classification of pneumatic channels based on a variety of parameters including their shape, quantity, types of fans for generating airflow, and the methods by which material and air are supplied to the pneumatic channel. The systematization and classification of various types of pneumatic systems as well as their practical applications in modern high-tech grain-cleaning equipment undoubtedly represents a significant step forward in this field. The conducted analysis allows combining the best technical solutions and ideas discovered during research to develop new, more efficient grain-cleaning machines. A brief yet informative description of each type of pneumatic system designed to effectively separate grain into fractions based on the velocity of the various particles is also provided. The study highlighted both the key advantages and existing shortcomings of the machines and devices used in the pneumatic separation process.
