Effectiveness of introducing OMEK-7M-KRS premix into compound feeds for calves

By means of a scientific and economic experiment in the mid-mountain zone of the Republic of Altai, the effect on some indices of homeostasis and growth of Simmental calves of mineral premix OMEK-7M-KRS for cattle which was fed to animals as part of their diet at a dose of 0.5 g per 1 kg of compound feed from the 21st to the 71th day of life was studied. The complex compounds of trace elements included in the OMEK-7M-KRS mineral premix have higher bioavailability compared to their inorganic compounds. They are more easily absorbed and incorporated into the metabolic processes of the body which reduces the level of micronutrient intake in cattle diets. The premix OMEK-7M-KRS is a source of organic iron, manganese, zinc, copper, cobalt, iodine and selenium. It was found that in the calves of the trial group, in the final period of the experiment, the average body weight was significantly higher than that in the control group by 4.91 kg, or by 5.32%. The absolute and average daily body weight gains of animals in this group were significantly higher than the control values - by 6.2 kg, or 11.0%, and by 68.78 g, or 11.0%, respectively. Thus, the mineral premix OMEK-7M-KRS, in the form of organic compounds with an optimal ratio of components, moderately stimulates hematopoiesis, increases metabolic processes in the body of calves which has a positive effect on the average daily and absolute weight gains. When raising calves in dairy cattle breeding, to increase the intensity of their growth, we suggest using the domestic OMEK-7M-KRS premix for cattle according to the following scheme: 0.5 g per 1 kg of compound feed, from the 21st to the 71st day of life.
