Abstract

The application of ozonation technology in agricultural production has quite broad prospects. The main attention is paid to the application of ozone-air mixtures in seed production on grain-producing farms, flour mills and in the food industry. In a wider range, ozonation may be used in specific technological operations as grain drying and storage. Therefore, the development and implementation of modern grain ozonation units is an urgent task that requires special knowledge of the physical and mechanical properties of ozone. In this regard, engineers and technologists pay special attention to the development of more efficient ozonizers as well as treatment chambers, and the improvement of ozonation process control methods. Ozonation technology and units ensure efficient and safe disinfection of seeds. Having certain advantages, the ozonation process becomes more demanded, primarily in seed production. This substantiates our study on seed ozonation where the sowing qualities of seeds were improved. It may be stated that further expansion of the scope of ozonation has prospects. The conducted studies confirmed the feasibility of using ozonation to improve the sowing qualities of seeds, and in the long term, safe storage of seeds. Ozonation technology is of no small importance for reducing dependence on chemical plant protection products, and in improving the quality of agricultural products. The environmental situation may be significantly improved with the use of ozonation. Ultimately, the introduction of ozonation confirms the economic feasibility of increasing the cost of products by improving their quality.
